Everyone can do karate!
We offer Goju Ryu karate classes for all ages and abilities. We are a smaller dojo and our regular class times are currently running on weekday evenings. If you are not sure what class is right for you, send us a message and we can get you in the right direction!
For students looking to compete, additional training opportunities are provided. Elite level athletes are expected to train at a higher level and additional travel is required.
Goju Ryu karate incorporates many hard and soft techniques. The soft techniques and strong emphasis on breathing allows this style to be practiced by older adults and those recovering from injury. Our qualified instructors and coaches also have experience in teaching and coaching individuals of all abilities. Belonging to the Ontario Karate Federation, we have additional access to resources to help future para-athletes achieve their goals!
Every three months we hold a birthday and attendance party. We celebrate everyone who had birthdays in the past three months as well as give two awards for the Top Attendance and Outstanding Student. At the end of the year, we have a celebration to celebrate everyone's accomplishments over the year!
All of our instructors care about the academic success of our students. At times, elite level athletes have demanding schedules and we want to recognize everyone's effort into maintaining both their training and academic schedule. At the end of each school year, every student can enter a ballot for every "A" they received on their report cards throughout the year. We will draw 3 names to each win a $50 gift card to Staples! In addition, we now have an application for high school students. Upon graduation, they can apply for a $500 bursary to go towards their post secondary education.
