Our Story​

​1989

Our founder, Shihan Yabunaka, opened the first iteration of Ingersoll Karate at the CAMI Dojo in Ingersoll shortly after moving to Ontario.​

2006

Shihan Alexander and Shihan Mary David received 3rd dan under Shihan Yabunaka.​

2011

Shihan Yabunaka received 7th dan from Karate Canada.

2013

Shihan Yabunaka received 8th dan with Seiwa Kai.​

2016

Moved to 85 Thames St South.​

2019

Shidoin Victoria received Competition Development Trained status with NCCP.

​Shihan Yabunaka received 8th dan and Hanshi title.

1996

Shihan Yabunaka received 7th dan with Seiwa Kai.​

​2007

Shihan Alexander and Sensei Joshua David awarded Karate Athlete of the Year with the City of Kitchener.​

2012

Shihan Alexander and Joshua David awarded Karate ​Athlete of the Year with the City of Kitchener.

2014

Shihan Alexander and Shihan Mary David received 5th dan and Shihan titles under Shihan Yabunaka

​Shihan Mary is the first female to earn 5th dan and Shihan title in Seiwa Kai Canada.​

​2017

Shidoin Victoria received 3rd dan under Shihan Yabunaka.

​2021
